WAYNETOWN, Ind. (CNS) — Luther Atkinson, 80, of Hugo, Okla., a former Waynetown resident, died at 12 noon Saturday (March 10, 1973) in Hugo. He had been ill since Jan. 28. Born June 6, 1892, in Montgomery County, Kans., he was the son of William Henry and Elizabeth Wonderly Atkinson. He was married Feb. 14, 1914, to Hazel Springer in Crawfordsville, who died in October of 1964. Educated in Kansas schools, he moved to Montgomery County, Ind., in 1912. He moved to Oklahoma in 1965. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Rankin of Chicago and Mrs. Evelyn Rollan of Anderson; a son, Earl of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. W.S. Taylor of Hugo and Mrs. Elsie Cedars of Waynetown; six grandchildren, including Dan McIntyre of Crawfordsville, whom he reared; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son and a sister, Mrs. Susan Fine of Crawfordsville. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Tuesday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Guy E. Tremaine officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Crawfordsville. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Monday.--waw
